SEPT. 21, 2023 – The U.S. Census Bureau is partnering with the Puerto Rico IT Cluster to co-host a Data Innovation Symposium in San Juan, Puerto Rico, October 12-13. The event will take place as part of the 10th anniversary of the CIO & IT Leadership Conference.

The symposium will include presentations and trainings on topics such as Puerto Rico’s federal statistical infrastructure, race and ethnicity reporting, vulnerability and resilience data, quarterly workforce indicators and geospatial data.

On Oct. 12, Census Bureau Director Robert Santos will join Jennifer Pahlka, former U.S. deputy chief technology officer, and Enrique Völkers-Nin, under secretary for Innovation, Information, Data, and Technology in the Puerto Rico governor's office, to participate in the closing plenary session on “Recoding Puerto Rico: A Comprehensive Reflection, Look Ahead and Valuable Insights.” Santos will also deliver the keynote address at the conference Oct. 13.
