APRIL 4, 2023 – The U.S. Census Bureau today released updated versions of the Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES) data product and the OnTheMap application.

The new LODES 8.0 data includes 2020 data and recasts all historical LODES years into 2020 census blocks. The underlying geography in OnTheMap has been updated to use the TIGER 2021 vintage.

OnTheMap and LODES now contain 2002-2020 employment data for most states – exceptions include data for Alaska from 2017 to 2020 and Arkansas and Mississippi from 2019 to 2020.

The OnTheMap application is supported by the state partners under the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) partnership with the Census Bureau.
