The U.S. Census Bureau is scheduled to release the 2025 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year estimates and 1-year Supplemental Estimates on Oct. 29.
Data will be available for states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, congressional districts, metropolitan statistical areas, and other geographic areas that meet the product’s publication threshold. The publication thresholds are populations of 65,000 or more for the ACS 1-year estimates and populations of 20,000 or more for the 1-year Supplemental Estimates.
Prior to the public release, the Census Bureau will hold two webinars. Join the first webinar on Oct. 15 to learn about new and modified content for the 2025 ACS, including sewer, electric vehicles, household roster, educational attainment, health insurance coverage, and labor force. We will discuss changes to the questions, data, and release plans.
The second webinar on Oct. 22 will explain how to access ACS data and resources and provide tips for comparing geographies and statistics over time.
The ACS provides a wide range of statistics about the nation’s people and housing, such as language spoken at home, education, commuting, employment, mortgage status and rent, income, poverty and health insurance coverage. It is the only source of local estimates for most of the 40-plus topics it covers.
Embargo subscribers will have access to these statistics from Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. ET to Thursday, Oct. 29 at 12:01 a.m. ET. Wire and distribution services are prohibited from distributing embargoed news stories and data files before the public release date and time. For more information, refer to the Census Bureau’s embargo policy. All datasets will be available to the public by 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 29.
