Subnational Population Data to Inform Climate Change Adaptation

Written by:

Introduction

This brief focuses on the role of national statistical offices (NSOs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) informing national adaptation and mitigation strategies for climate change. NSOs collect household, business, and individual data from censuses and surveys. Due to their unique position as data stewards and analysts of social and economic data, NSOs are being asked to inform these strategies at both national and subnational levels.
