Estimating Community Resilience

Introduction

Community resilience is the capacity of communities to respond and adapt to disruption and change. Increasingly, national statistical offices (NSOs) and other organizations are using this concept to identify communities that may be less resilient to disruptive events, including climate change. This brief will describe four existing community resilience measures in an international context and discuss the ways in which they are used.
