U.S. Census Bureau Tribal Information Session: Statistical Products First Program - Tribal GDP

The U.S. Census Bureau's Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs (OCIA) Tribal Team is offering a series of virtual information sessions tailored for tribal communities. These sessions are designed to strengthen communication and provide timely updates to tribal governments, American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) stakeholders, and users of Census data. The Census Bureau remains dedicated to ongoing dialogue and information sharing with tribal entities, ensuring transparency and fostering trust among all participating groups.  During these sessions, attendees will learn about recent data releases and current projects at the Census Bureau that specifically affect tribal communities and stakeholders.

This session will highlight the Statistical Products First Program and their active engagement with data users through tribal conferences and listening sessions. These efforts aim to better understand the types of information tribal communities need and how they intend to use it. Tribal leaders have indicated that a gross domestic product (GDP) like measure could help tribes more effectively track their long-term changes in their economic conditions- an area where timely and accurate data are currently limited. This session will focus on the Census Bureau’s work to estimate tribal GDP using blended data sources.

We look forward to your attendance!
