The Census Bureau prepares Annual Estimates of the Total Population for states, counties and all other units of general purpose government. It is the policy of the Census Bureau to provide the most accurate population estimates it can produce.
As specified under the provisions of Title 15, the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 90, it is also the policy of the Census Bureau to provide general-purpose governments the opportunity to challenge their official estimates through the Population Estimates Challenge Program.
Under this program, a sub-state governmental unit may challenge their population estimate by submitting additional data to the U.S. Census Bureau for evaluation. For information on this program, please visit our Web site at //www.census.gov/popest/data/challenge/index.html
