The Annual Integrated Economic Survey (AIES) collects annual establishment data on key economic statistics such as employment, payroll, first quarter payroll and receipts. This experimental product¹ produces estimates of total receipts defined by the North American Product Classification System (NAPCS). The Annual Integrated Economic Survey collected limited NAPCS data in survey year 2023. Collection was limited to the manufacturing sector, while the service sectors collected limited product data, most of which differ by NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) industry and do not align with NAPCS products. To align all sectors with the manufacturing sector and the Economic Census, an additional set of model-based NAPCS will be published. Additionally, due to collection challenges the model was expanded to include the manufacturing sector. The model projects the Economic Census NAPCS broad-line distributions onto the AIES totals. Survey data for this product is from collection year 2023 and will be updated annually.

This experimental data product is subject to disclosure avoidance thresholds and may not meet some of the Census Bureau’s statistical quality standards.
