In developing methodology for use with the 2012 Enterprise Statistics reports, the Census Bureau prepared several prototype tables using the 2007 Business Register and administrative records. The Census Bureau also developed the Enterprise Classification System, an industry classification system for use with enterprises (in contrast to the North American Industry Classification System [NAICS], a system for classifying establishments).
