1930 Census: Manufactures, 1929 Volume 3. Reports by States. Statistics for Industrial Areas, Counties, and Cities

The manufactures reports for 1929 comprise three volumes. Volume III incorporates the advance State series of manufactures bulletins. Twelve tables for each State present data showing:

  1. Summary for the State
  2. Summary for counties
  3. Persons engaged in manufacturing industries by sex
  4. Wage earners by months
  5. Establishments classified according to prevailing hours of labor per week for wage earners
  6. Establishments classified as to size by number of wage earners
  7. Establishments classified as to size by value of products
  8. Establishments classified as under corporate or other form of ownership (or control) and as under central- administrative-office or independent operation
  9. Prime movers and electric motors by number and rated capacity for the State
  10. Horsepower of prime movers and of electric motors by counties
  11. Fuel and electric energy consumed by quantity and cost
  12. General statistics by industries.

Additional tables in selected States present general statistics for industrial areas, important counties or important cities, by industries.

There are two appendixes: Appendix A-Lists of industries with descriptions, and Appendix B-General schedule.
