Seven chapters present text analysis, 30 tables, and 48 figures (maps) for the following:
The Appendix contains Tables I-XXII, which include variations in organization of various types of farms; frequency tables showing selected types of farms classified by size of farm and the more important crop and livestock combinations found on each. Jacket at end of volume contains county outline map of the United States, and type of farming areas.
Census statistics date back to 1790 and reflect the growth and change of the United States. Past census reports contain some terms that today’s readers may consider obsolete and inappropriate. As part of our goal to be open and transparent with the public, we are improving access to all Census Bureau original publications and statistics, which serve as a guide to the nation's history.
