The estimates given in this report are consistent with the estimates of the total population of States and outlying areas published in No. 208 of this series and with the estimates of the population of the United States by age published in No. 212; but they are not entirely consistent with the estimates of the population of States by broad age groups for earlier postcensal years published in Nos. 130, 151, 172, and 194.
