Illustrative Populations Projections for the U.S.: The Demographic Effects of Alternative Paths to Zero Growth
Abstract
One purpose of this report is to show the demographic effects of several population projection series, all of which lead eventually to a cessation or to a very low rate of population growth. Projection series leading to population decline, due to fertility rates well below replacement level over long periods of time, are not considered in this report.
