Statistical Brief: Hispanic-Owned Businesses: Reaching New Heights

Hispanic-owned businesses grew 76 percent over a 5-year period.
Between 1987 and 1992, the number of firms owned by Hispanics increased from 489,973 to 862,605. During the same period, the number of all firms grew from 13.7 million to 17.3 million (26 percent).
Hispanic-owned firms made up 5.0 percent of all firms and took in 2.3 percent of gross receipts in 1992.
