Census Bureau Hosts 2020 Census Operations Update to Discuss 2015 National Content and Self-Response Test

Press Release Number CB14-182

What:

U.S. Census Bureau officials will brief reporters on preparations for the 2020 Census and the 2015 National Content and Self-Response Test. The event will include presentations on our plans for testing possible 2020 Census question wording on within-household coverage, relationship and race/ethnicity. The 2015 National Content and Self-Response Test is also designed to test new strategies for contacting households and encouraging self-response, particularly via the Internet. The test is part of a series of tests and research projects the Census Bureau is conducting to make the constitutionally mandated once-a-decade headcount quick, easy and safe. Through the smart use of technology and existing government data, the 2020 Census seeks to provide substantial taxpayer savings while maintaining a commitment to quality, accuracy and confidentiality.

Presenters will take questions following completion of their remarks.
