Statistician/Demographer, Local Government Estimates and Migration Processing Branch, Population Division

Heather King is a statistician/demographer in the Population Division’s Local Government Estimates and Migration Processing Branch at the U.S. Census Bureau. She led the development of births on the 2020 Demographic Analysis team. Her research interests include the study of migration between states and counties, imputation and race assignment methods in components of demographic change, and quality assessments of population estimates and components using statistical methods. She joined the Census Bureau in 2013. Heather has a master’s degree in mathematics (with a concentration in statistics) from Georgia Southern University.
