Nicholas Johnson has been the Chief of the Division of Labor Force Statistics at the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) since June 2022. In this position, he oversees BLS work on the Current Population Survey (CPS) and the American Time Use Survey (ATUS). Previously, he was the Current Employment Statistics (CES) Data Collection Branch Chief where he led development of new procedures and collection instruments from 2015-2022. He started his BLS career in the Producer Price Index (PPI) program in 2000.
