Vincent Osier

Assistant Division Chief, Geographic Standards, Criteria, Research and Quality Geography Division, U.S. Census Bureau

Vincent Osier is assistant division chief for Geographic Standards, Criteria, Research, and Quality in the Census Bureau’s Geography Division.

He joined the Census Bureau in 1997 in the Geographic Areas Branch of the Geography Division to help support the 2000 Census and became a branch chief in 2009 in what is now called the Geographic Standards, Criteria and Quality Branch.

Osier is also the U.S. representative to the United Nations Expert Group on the Integration of Statistical and Geospatial Information.

During the 2010 and 2020 Censuses, he served as head of the Center of Population projects.

A Minnesota native, Osier has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, where he majored in geography and anthropology. He also has a master’s certificate in project management from George Washington University.
