SEPT. 16, 2021 — The U.S. Census Bureau today released data from the 2019 Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP). The data are accompanied by supporting materials including a codebook and an updated users’ guide.
The 2020 SIPP data will be released in the coming weeks. The Census Bureau also plans to release research briefs highlighting various social and economic topics in the coming months.
The SIPP is a longitudinal survey that interviews the same individuals over a four-year period. The survey provides comprehensive information about the income and program participation of U.S. individuals and households. The SIPP collects data and measures change for many topics including economic well-being, family dynamics, education, assets, health insurance, child care, and food security.
