MAY 3, 2023 – Today the U.S. Census Bureau launched the <Business and Owner Demographic Characteristics> webpage, creating a one-stop shop for its economic surveys that measure demographic data for businesses and business owners.

The Business and Owner Demographic Characteristics webpage serves as a hub for information on selected economic and demographic characteristics from the Annual Business Survey (ABS), Nonemployer Statistics by Demographics (NES-D) and historical surveys like the Survey of Business Owners and the Annual Survey of Entrepreneurs. Data from the ABS and NES-D are sourced from a combination of survey data and administrative records and are released annually. The survey data are collected from employer businesses in the ABS and the nonemployer data are compiled from administrative records and published through NES-D.
