The 2007 Survey of Business Owners (SBO) questionnaire, Form SBO-1, was mailed to a random sample of businesses selected from a list of all firms operating during 2007 with receipts of $1,000 or more. For the 2007 SBO, firms could either report electronically by using Census Taker, the Census Bureau's secure online interactive application, or return their completed form by mail. The businesses were asked to report the percentage of ownership, gender, Hispanic or Latino origin, race, and several characteristic questions (e.g., age, education level) for each of the four largest percentage owners.
