During the annotation phase, mapping coordinators compare the Census Bureau's school district boundaries with local school district boundary sources and review school district names, levels, codes, grade ranges, and relationships using the listing files. The Census Bureau's School District Listings are Microsoft Excel files that provide inventory and relationship information by state. The types of listings vary by state according to the state's geography and how the state participates in the SDRP.

The submission log is a Microsoft Excel file used to report all updates except boundary changes.
Geographic Update Partnership Software (GUPS) Web
GUPS Web is an online application used to create boundary changes and submit them to the Census Bureau. At the start of the SDRP, the Census Bureau will send an invitation email to mapping coordinators providing a link to register for a GUPS Web account. If a technical lead is assigned to make SDRP updates instead of the mapping coordinator, contact the Census Bureau to request an account.
