An error in processing the Medicaid end-month variable led to fewer than 40 person-month records being incorrectly assigned values. Data users can identify these person-month records where Medicaid begin-month (EMD_BMONTH) values exceed end-month (EMD_EMONTH) values by recoding the Medicaid end-month variable to the maximum MONTHCODE value for the spell where EMD_BMONTH is greater than EMD_EMONTH (i.e., if EMD_BMONTH>EMD_EMONTH then EMD_EMONTH=Max(MONTHCODE) for spell). The number of person-month records incorrectly assigned values varies by data file. This error is present in the 2018-2022 SIPP data files.
