2022 SIPP: School Meals Universe for Children Under 5
For 2022 SIPP data, 123 children who are in universe for school meals are younger than 5 years old in December of the reference period. Considering that most states require children be at least 5 years old to enter the lowest primary school grade of kindergarten, these children most likely should not qualify to be in universe to receive school meals.
To restrict these children from the universe in the 2022 SIPP, simply remove any child whose TAGE=5, but whose TAGE_EHC=4 in MONTHCODE 12.
