Gazetteer Files
The U.S. Gazetteer Files provide a listing of all geographic areas for selected geographic area types. The files include geographic identifier codes, names, area measurements, and representative latitude and longitude coordinates.
This page provides links to 2010 Census gazetteer files for counties, county subdivisions (minor civil divisions/census county divisions), places, census tracts, 111th Congressional districts, American Indian Areas/Alaska Native Areas/Native Hawaiian Areas, school districts (elementary, secondary, and unified), state legislative districts (upper and lower), ZIP Code tabulation areas (ZCTAs), and urban areas for the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
Notes:
- All national files are in compressed format.
- The 2010 Census population and housing unit counts were added on August 22, 2012, except where noted.
- The Island Areas (American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) are not included in these files.
- The vintage of the geography in these files is as of the 2010 Census (that is, as of January 1, 2010).
- Because of changes in boundaries and entity names, as well as the creation of new entities, and the dissolution of others, users should not expect to find a "one-to-one" relationship between the entity names and codes in these files and the comparable Census 2000 or 1990 Census files.

The School Districts - Secondary file contains data for secondary school districts in 19 states as of the 2010 Census.
