What American Community Survey (ACS) estimates are available for my area? When will they be available?

New American Community Survey (ACS) estimates are released every year based on data from the previous calendar year. These releases include ACS 1-year, 1-year supplemental, and 5-year data. Learn more about When to Use 1-year or 5-year Estimates.

Each year of data release includes:

  • 1-year estimates are published for geographic areas with a population of 65,000 or more.
  • 1-year Supplemental Estimates are published for geographic areas with a population of 20,000 or more.
  • 5-year estimates (data collected from the previous five calendar years) are available for all areas regardless of population size.

ACS data products are generally released the year after they are collected. As soon as specific release dates are set, they are posted on the Data Releases page. The Census Bureau will also notify data users who have registered to receive ACS email updates as soon as release dates are announced.
