The 2026 Census Test is different than other tests in the decade because it is our first major opportunity to test how refinements and enhancements planned for the 2030 Census work together and at scale. It will evaluate new and enhanced processes and methods, including how people respond on their own via the internet, how census takers collect data in person, and how the Census Bureau might work with the USPS to increase efficiency. Each aspect works together with the goal of achieving a complete and accurate count in the 2030 Census.
