Estimates of the civilian population of the States and of Hawaii and Puerto Rico in five broad age groups are presented in this report: under 5 years old, 5 to 17 years old, 18 to 44 years old, 45 to 64 years old, and 65 years old and over.  In addition, the report presents estimates for the age groups 14 years old and over, 18 years old and over, and 21 years old and over.
