An estimated total of 45,400 apartments were completed in buildings with five units or more in the third quarter of 1994. This is 22 (± 15) percent higher than the 37,200 apartments completed in the second quarter of 1994, and 36 (± 20) percent higher than the 33,400 apartments completed in the same (third) quarter of last year (table 11). Approximately 69 percent (31,500) of all completions were privately financed, nonsubsidized, unfurnished, rental apartments. This is significantly higher (± 5,900 and ± 5,940 respectively) than the revised 24,700 such units completed in the second quarter and the 22,100 similar completions in the third quarter of 1993.
