New orders for manufactured goods in September increased $1.7 billion or 0.5 percent to $331.1 billion, the Department of Commerce, Census Bureau reported today.This is the fourth increase in the last five months and follows
a 0.3 percent August decrease.  Year to date, new orders for 2003 were 2.5 percent above the same period a year ago.
