This report uses data from the American Community Survey to explore social and economic characteristics of unmarried women with a birth in the last year. In addition, it explores the geographic distribution of unmarried women with a birth in the last year at both the state and metropolitan levels. When possible, this report makes comparisons to a previous report on the same topic that used 2011 American Community Survey data.
