Commerce Data Advisory Council (CDAC): NOAA's Big Data Project

The NOAA Big Data Project is an experiment that looks at highly diverse -- and sometimes underutilized -- data sets produced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Brian Eiler, Senior Advisor to the NOAA Undersecretary, presented the goals for the NOAA B.D.P. at the Fall 2015 meeting of the CDAC, from the untapped economic value to the public's ability to leverage NOAA's information.
