The Census Bureau launched its national 2020 Census Statistics in Schools (SIS) program at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, TN on Oct. 28, 2019.

One thousand Shelby County School students participated in various fun activities centered on being counted in the once-a-decade headcount next March.

The "Everyone Counts Fall Festival" featured Dr. Steven Dillingham, Director, U.S. Census Bureau, Dr. Joris M. Ray, Superintendent of Shelby County Schools, and guest speaker David Osmond, host of the TV kids’ show Wonderama.

Statistics in Schools provides interactive games and challenges for classroom activities created by teachers. These free activities and resources are available on the SIS website.
