Introduction
lsleta Pueblo is located approximately twelve miles south of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The community of lsleta is one of 19 modern Pueblo Indian communities which have survived Euro-American contact. The term “Pueblo” was a title bequeathed by the first Spanish explorers and colonizers of the region and was used to denote a “township” under Spanish Crown authority.
