The Human Factors and Usability Research Group of the US Census Bureau conducted usability testing on a prototype version of the Consumer Expenditure (CE) Web Diary Survey from January-April 2012. The CE diary examines the buying habits of people in the United States and the products and services that are bought by people in this country. Respondents to the CE Web Diary in the field complete the diary for two weeks for all of the items that they buy or for which they spend money (i.e., all of their “expenses”). There were 42 participants in the usability study and this report summarizes the usability and accessibility results.
