This poster presents general trends and characteristics of the foreign-born labor force in the United States using data from the 2016 American Community Survey. In addition to outlining historic trends and the regions and places of birth of the foreign-born labor force, this research also compares the native, naturalized citizen, and noncitizen labor forces on such characteristics as age, race, Hispanic origin, educational attainment, occupation, language spoken at home, and ability to speak English.
