The Census Bureau conducted a survey of ACS interviewers to identify questions that were perceived as difficult or intrusive for respondents. For each survey question determined to have high burden from the scoring in the 2014 ACS Content Review, the Census Bureau examined the questions for likely sources of difficulty, sensitivity, and burden. The Census Bureau then determined potential question revisions that may reduce this burden and engaged a broader set of Federal data users, including the U.S. Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Interagency Committee for the ACS, to develop recommendations for question modifications.
