This paper investigates the process and outcomes of joining the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) with the Demographic Frame. The joining occurs over the data years 2019 through 2023. We provide details on the process of joining the two data sources and report on the critical decisions involved along the process. In addition, we assess the degree of concordance in the demographic characteristics (e.g., sex, age, race) between the SIPP and the Demographic Frame, distinguishing between person and household level characteristics. This paper offers early insight into the potential uses of the Demographic Frame for both methodological and substantive applications. Furthermore, implications on the benefits of the integration of data sources (e.g., reduction in missing data, reduction of redundant questioning and respondent burden, reduction of cost) are discussed.
