The U.S. Census Bureau identified a data tabulation error in the 2023 ACS 1-year Data Profiles for the 119th Congress that were released on January 7, 2025. When the data were collected and processed for the public release, respondents’ congressional districts reflected the boundaries for the 118th Congress. In order to retabulate the 2023 data using the 119th Congressional district boundaries, records had to be updated for respondents whose congressional districts changed due to redistricting. An error occurred during this process. The error affected districts with updated boundaries in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, and New York. The estimates released on January 7, 2025 should not be compared to other data.
The 2023 ACS 1-year Data Profiles for the 119th Congress were corrected and posted to the Census Bureau API, data.census.gov, and the My Congressional District data tool on March 13, 2025.
