County Business Patterns (CBP) estimates of the Ocean Economy for the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico and the Island Areas are published by unique industries and nonstandard geographies which were determined in coordination with subject matter experts responsible for the Economics: National Ocean Watch (ENOW) database at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The following files are updated annually by NOAA and reflect the most current geographical and industrial classifications utilized to capture ocean-driven activity in the source data. As a result, the scope of the Ocean Economy tabulation can change from year-to-year.

The Ocean Economy Industries (2019-2021)  reference file was replaced on October 15, 2024. The previously published version of the reference file inadvertently included an industry that is not present in the estimates.
