August 17, 2023: The U.S. Census Bureau is announcing the following release dates and other updates for upcoming 2020 Census data products:
Release Dates
2020 Census 118th Congressional District Summary File
Detailed DHC-A
Detailed DHC-B Proof of Concept
The Detailed DHC-B provides household type and tenure information for the same detailed race and ethnicity groups and American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and villages included in the Detailed DHC-A. Using 2010 Census data, the January 2024 Proof of Concept will help data users understand how the new disclosure avoidance framework based on differential privacy may impact the 2020 Census Detailed DHC-B. The Detailed DHC-B is scheduled for release in September 2024.
Other Updates : Supplemental-DHC (S-DHC)
S-DHC tables reflect complex relationships between the characteristics about households and the people living in them. While we will still release the S-DHC data product at the nation and state level in September 2024 as planned, we will not produce a Proof of Concept to illustrate how the disclosure avoidance algorithm works prior to the release.
This was a difficult decision, but it allows us to maximize our development time as we approach the fiscal year 2024 funding deadline for 2020 Census work. We will continue to keep data users informed throughout product development and take informal feedback through ongoing stakeholder outreach.
