The instrument may have mistakenly assigned business ownership to several respondents in wave 3, based upon faulty information about these respondents from wave 2. In such instances, this led the instrument to conclude that the respondent worked in the wave 3 reference period. Analysis of the wave 2 information for these persons, however, strongly suggested that their supposed ownership of a business in wave 3 was without basis and should not be used to offset indications that they did not work in wave 3. Accordingly, for these cases the edit set the value of EPDJBTHN=2 (did not work in wave 3 reference period), removed their business record, and made APDJBTHN=5.
