A processing error with incorrect or unavailable guardianship pointers resulted in the over-allocation of ECSAGREE (child support payments were court ordered or informally agree to) and ECSANY (child support payments were received during the reference period).

As a result of the over-allocation, the weighted estimates for these variables when ECSAGREE=1 or ECSANY=1 may be approximately 2 percentage points higher than if correct guardianship pointers were used.  On the other hand, the estimates for these variables when ECSAGREE=2 or ECSANY=2 may be approximately 2 percentage points lower than if the correct guardianship pointers were used. This error was corrected in the 2018 SIPP panel.
