Due to an error in processing, some spouses were allocated independently of a spouse who reported (or was allocated to) married filing jointly. This results in a mismatch in reporting status for a subset of couples who were married during the tax year in question, and means that the distribution of filing statuses and dependency claims do not align with IRS reports. The error will be fixed in the 2019 data.
