2023 SIPP: Inconsistent Monthly Relationships Among a Few People

There are a small number of cases with inconsistent monthly relationships among people within a household. When comparing ERELRPE or RREL values of household members in relation to 1) other relationship information, 2) parent pointers (EPNPAR1, RPNPAR1_EHC, EPNPAR2, RPNPAR2_EHC), type of parent (EPAR1TYP, RPAR1TYP_EHC, EPAR2TYP, RPAR2TYP_EHC), marital status (EMS, EMS_EHC) or cohabiting partner pointers (EPNCOHAB, EPNCOHAB_EHC), these inconsistencies, such as nonreciprocal or missing pointers, or inconsistencies in the presence of Type 2 people at a certain month, may become apparent. Data users should be aware of these inconsistencies when looking at household relationships.
