Open Government at Census

As the leading source of quality data about the nation’s people and economy, our mission to honor privacy, protect confidentiality, share our expertise globally, and conduct our work openly is inherently aligned with the open government principles of transparency, participation, and collaboration.

The responsibility for the development and maintenance of open government policies, procedures, and guidance is handled through the Office of Privacy and Open Government at the Department of Commerce (the Department).
