TIGER/Line GeoPackages are spatial extracts from the Census Bureau’s Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) System for use with geographic information systems (GIS) software. They are based on the Open Geospatial Consortium GeoPackage Encoding Standard. These files include a variety of national and state-based GeoPackages for geographic boundaries and features.
These files do not include demographic data, but they contain geographic entity codes that can be linked to the Census Bureau’s demographic data, available on data.census.gov.
Information about the TIGER/Line GeoPackage layers and record layouts can be found in the TIGER/Line GeoPackage technical documentation.
The 2024 vintage includes congressional district and state legislative district GeoPackages derived from representations of the 119th congressional district and 2024 state legislative district plans as submitted by the states to the U.S. Census Bureau.
