How can I download the American Housing Survey (AHS) public use file (PUF)?

To access the PUF, go to the Data page, choose a survey year, and click on the PUF link. Then choose either the national or metro PUF. The data are available as relational SAS files, comma-delimited ASCII (CSV) files, and a flat SAS file.
