The basic elements of a 484(f) request include: the reason for the request, the proposed language for each requested statistical annotation and the names of importers and exporters of the articles in the annotation. Such requests should be submitted no later than March 15, for changes to be effective July 1, and July 15, for changes to be effective January 1. Submissions are logged in as 484(f) cases and reviewed by representatives from the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC), U.S. Census Bureau, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
