Housing

• Two new Detailed Tables provide additional estimates for vacant housing units. Detailed Table B25136 provides estimates on structure type by the occupancy status of the housing unit, while Detailed Table B25137 provides estimates on the number of bedrooms by the occupancy status of the housing unit.
• Two new Detailed Tables show the 25^th percentile gross rent (B25138) and 75th percentile gross rent (B25139).
• New Detailed Table B25140 shows the count of households paying more than 30% of their income towards housing costs broken out by three tenure categories (owned with a mortgage, owned without a mortgage, and rented). The table also shows the number of households paying more than 50% of their income toward housing costs.
• Twenty-seven new race and ethnicity iterated tables were added for the existing B25008 (total population by tenure), B25010 (average household size by tenure), and B25077 (median home value). These new tables are B25008A through B25008I, B25010A through B25010I, and B25077A through B25077I.

Field of Degree

• Two new Detailed Tables provide estimates of median annual earnings by field of degree for the population age 25 to 64 with a bachelor's degree or higher. B15013 shows median earnings by field of first bachelor's degree by sex, and B15014 shows median earnings by field of first bachelor's degree by age.

Language

• Detailed Table B16002 now provides 5-year estimates for household language by household limited English speaking status.

Race

• Collapsed Tables C02015 and C02016 are now produced for 5-year estimates.

All Tables

• Table titles have been updated to use title case style rather than all caps, such as "B01001: Sex by Age" rather than "B01001: SEX BY AGE." This change was made to improve legibility of table titles across Census Bureau programs and surveys.

Comparison Profiles

• Comparison Profiles CP02, CP02PR, CP03, CP04, and CP05 are no longer available for Congressional Districts due to the use of non-comparable geographic boundaries across comparison periods following redistricting.

Foreign-Born Population

• Detailed Table B05006 was modified to include the following country of birth groups: Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Georgia, Ivory Coast, Marshall Islands, St. Lucia, Tanzania, Togo, and United Arab Emirates. Also, the row label for “Burma” was changed to “Burma (Myanmar).”

Home Value

• Home values were added to the list of dollar amounts adjusted for inflation using the R-CPI-U-RS. Prior to the 2022 ACS release, home values have not been adjusted for inflation in either the 1-year or 5-year ACS. In the 2022 ACS 5-year release, in CP04 the four prior years (2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018) will be adjusted to the current year’s dollars. This change will also impact the the following Detailed Tables: B25075-B25083 (including B25077A-I), B25085, B25086, B25096, B25097, B25100, B25107-B25110, and B25121.

Journey to Work and Migration

• To better reflect the terminology of the survey question, the universe for the following tables was updated from “Workers 16 years and over who did not work at home” to “Workers 16 years and over who did not work from home:” B08011, B08012, B08013, B08131, B08132, B08133, B08134, B08135, B08136, B08302, B08303, B08412, B08532, B08534, B08536, B08602, and B08603.

Language

• The universe for Detailed Table B16003 was modified to include quotation marks around the language category "very well." The universe now reads: Population 5 years and over in households in which no one 14 and over speaks English only or speaks a language other than English at home and speaks English "very well."

Poverty

• The universe cell in Detailed Table B17008 was modified from "Unrelated individuals 15 years and over for whom poverty status is determined" to "Unrelated individuals with incomes in the past 12 months below the poverty level."

Race

• Row labels for race categories under the “Population of one race:” section were modified to include “alone” in Collapsed Table C02003.  Row labels were added for two race in combination categories “White; Some Other Race” and “Black or African American; Some Other Race.”
• The race categories in Detailed Tables B02015 and B02018 were reorganized to include regional headers and additional race categories.
• Row labels for Detailed Table B02016 were added for “Chuukese” and “Guamanian.” Row labels were also changed from “Other Pacific Islander, not specified (check box only)” to “Other Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, not specified” and “Two or More NHPI” to “Two or more Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander.”
• Row labels for Detailed Table B02019 were added for “Chuukese” and “Guamanian.” The row label “Other Pacific Islander, not specified” was changed to “Other Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, not specified.” The universe label “Total NHPI alone or in any combination population (the total groups tallied)” was changed to “Total Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone or in any combination population (the total groups tallied).”
• Row labels were added to tables DP05 and CP05 for two race in combination categories “White and Some Other Race” and “Black or African American and Some Other Race.” Row labels for detailed Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander race categories were reordered alphabetically.  The row label "Other Pacific Islander" was changed to "Other Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander."

Year Householder Moved In

• Changes were made to the top end of the distribution for Year Householder Moved into Unit. The top three categories were changed from “Moved in 2019 or later,” “Moved in 2015 to 2018,” and “Moved in 2010 to 2014” to “Moved in 2021 or later,” “Moved in 2018 to 2020, and “Moved in 2010 to 2017” to better capture recent movers, whose unique characteristics can be useful for housing analysis.
  • Detailed Tables modified that include these changes are B25026, B25038, B25109, B25110, B25113, B25114, and B25128.
  • Other modified tables include DP04, CP04, and S2502.
• Categories in Detailed Table B25129 were changed from “Moved in 2015 or later” and “Moved in 2010 to 2014” to “Moved in 2018 or later” and “Moved in 2010 to 2017.”
